THE COTTAGE
RESORT
Temagami Cottage Rentals is a family owned and
operated housekeeping cottage resort. All season, lakeside cottages are
centrally located in the Temagami and North Bay vacation area. A 4 hour drive
from Toronto and only 15 minutes south from the town of Temagami Ontario, we
offer clean, comfortable, convenient and affordable housekeeping cottage
vacations and getaways on scenic Jumping Caribou Lake in Northern Ontario.
THE
GROUNDS
Temagami Cottage Rentals is located just off Hwy 11
(about 600 feet), on the quiet southeastern end of Jumping Caribou Lake. The limited boat
traffic creates a peaceful setting for your summer vacation. We have over 300
feet of waterfront and our property is surrounded by 100's of acres of
wilderness crown land which includes miles of shoreline just west of our
cottages. Six private cottages dot the scenic shoreline at the south end of
Jumping Caribou Lake with three others in a more treed area. We have a large floating sun
deck on the water for your enjoyment. We still remain a small and friendly
Canadian cottage resort with many options to explore for everyone.
THE
COTTAGES
The 6 lakeside cottages, with a maximum occupancy
of 40 people in the camp, we are able to provide a Canadian getaway of long
summer days at the cottage swimming, napping, fishing and reading. At dusk
build a campfire, gather the family and relax with new friends and stories of
the day, on the shores of Jumping Caribou Lake. The resort is nestled in a natural
setting of pine trees, lakes and rock, with over 300 feet of prime waterfront
on Jumping Caribou Lake, this beautiful terrain will lure you back again and again.
Our Canadian cottages are perfectly situated just a
few steps from the waterfront and our safe, sandy beach, diving raft,
children's play center in the play area and extended docks to enjoy sitting,
fishing with the kids or listening to the peaceful cry of the northern Ontario
loon. All the 6 cottages on the waterfront have a front deck or screened in
porch. Mature pine trees near the cottages add a sense of privacy and offer
shade in the afternoon sun. Cottages are fully furnished and equipped with a 3
or 4 piece bath, frost free fridge, 4 burner stove with oven, cooking utensils
and propane BBQ.
SUMMER TIME
AT THE COTTAGE
Summer at Temagami Cottage Rentals is our most
fun-filled season. All the vacation activities that you may want to try are
available at Temagami Cottage Rentals, on Jumping Caribou Lake or can be arranged nearby.
From quietly relaxing with a good book under a gently swaying pine tree to
exploring ATV trails through rugged wilderness - there's always something to
do. How about a friendly game of horseshoes, or badminton, meet other cottage
guests or paddle a canoe through the peaceful Back Lakes and watch Mother
Nature at her best - take photographs of the scenic beauty or catch a glimpse
of wildlife.
We have a safe sandy play area for the children in
direct view from your cottage, with a slide and sand box, the young children
get busy right away. Our sand beach and sand bottom swimming area is especially
inviting; it is shallow enough for children at the shoreline and deep enough
for an adult diving platform. Jumping Caribou Lake generally maintains a comfortably warm
temperature and is a healthy spring fed lake.
Temagami Cottage Rentals borders thousands of acres
of crown land with an incredible variety of bird species, majestic moose, black
bear and towering white and red pines. Climb the Temagami Tower on a sunny day
and take in the amazing panoramic view.
Bring your ATV's, dirt bikes or walk our local
recreational trails. These are easily accessible from the town of Temagami and
offer excellent hiking opportunities through crown land .
It's easy to catch fish on Jumping Caribou Lake. Toss a line
off the dock, you may find a nice smallmouth bass hanging from the hook. Small
mouth bass, pickerel and pike along with perch are our most abundant sport
fish. We believe in and promote live release and encourage photography.
Jumping Caribou
LAKE
We offer affordable 14' and 16' steel boat and
motor rentals, docking is available for those guests wishing to bring your own.
This is a perfect way to find your favourite fishing spot or just explore the
beauty of Jumping Caribou Lake. Pack a picnic and we can show you where to have a shore
lunch for an enjoyable afternoon. Take a leisurely paddle boat or canoe ride
around our calm lake. A small rental fee is required and includes safety
equipment and life jackets.
Enjoy a day trip to our nearby vacation towns, or
we can advise on scenic "back road" trips to really see all that the Temagami
area has to offer. We are approximately 15 minutes south of the town of
Temagami and about 45 minutes to North Bay to the south or Temiskeming to the
north. We are only 45 minutes away from several distinctive public golf courses
and driving ranges. We can assist with arrangements.
FALL IN
NORTHERN ONTARIO
As September rolls in, most summer fun is now a
memory but fishing, golf, canoeing, hiking and ATV riding are still activities
to enjoy in the north. The trees are beginning to change into their fall colors
of reds, golds and oranges. These are some of the most beautiful days of the
year at Jumping Caribou Lake and our cottages with propane heaters will keep you warm and
cozy. Capture the beauty with you camera, be sure to bring plenty of film!
Mid-October is when the fall colours peak, and
makes for a great Thanksgiving atmosphere. The thrill of taking a run on the
ATV for several hours and arriving back to the inviting smell of roast turkey
with family or friends. Autumn is the most picturesque time to plan a day trip.
Take a drive along winding back roads and find a new blaze of multi-colored
trees, puffy white clouds and calm blue lakes.
WINTER
Temagami Cottage Rentals is open for all seasons
and welcomes winter enthusiasts. Our winterized cottages with propane furnaces
are an excellent centre for all your winter activities. Our driveway is located
off Hwy 11 for easy access plus lots of room for parking. Snowmobilers are
minutes from OFSC Trails. Bring your sleds and go riding.
The crisp fresh air, snowshoes breaking through the
snow and the peaceful feeling of being away from the traffic and crowds is what
we cherish in northern Ontario. From beginner to expert, our varied terrain
offers wonderful snowshoe or cross-country skiing. We are surrounded by

SPRING
FISHING AT THE COTTAGE
Spring is a time of soft greens, sparkling waters
as Jumping Caribou Lake begins to warm up, the leaves slowly open and the songbirds
return. If you enjoy the outdoors and nature at its best, this is the season
for you.
Temagami Cottage Rentals are available for hiking,
canoeing, golfing, ATVing or fishing and family getaways. The ice on the lake
generally goes out by mid-April; pickerel season opens the third weekend of May
and bass opens on the last Saturday of June. If you just need a break, bring a
book, some DVD's, sleep late and laze around the cottage.
